The Pre-Columbian Society of Washington, DC is still accepting registrations for its 18th annual symposium, The Dawn of Andean Civilization, which will take place in downtown Washington on Saturday, September 17, 2011. During this one-day symposium, some of the world’s most renowned Andean scholars will present new research that challenges current notions about the genesis of Andean society. peakers will include Richard Burger and Lucy Salazar of Yale University; Alejandro Chu of Peru; Tom Dillehay of Vanderbilt University (host and moderator); Christine Hastorf of the University of California at Berkeley; Tom and Sheila Pozorski of the University of Texas-Pan American, and John Rick, of Stanford University.
