The Cochasqui Field School, Ecuador
June 17-July 21, 2012

Once an important center for a powerful Caranqui kingdom, Cochasqui is among the most important archaeological sites in Ecuador today. The "Cochasqui Interdisciplinary Project" aims to explore and integrate the rich archaeological, historical, and ethnographic records pertaining to this monumental and ceremonial site. Through full-coverage regional survey and complementary laboratory research, students will gain hands-on archaeological experience and will collaborate closely with Ecuadorian scholars. Students will further conduct an original interdisciplinary research through ethnographic and ethnoarchaeological assignments, where they will be immersed in the rich cultural heritage of the local indigenous community.

Tuition: US$5 200 CSU system students; US$5 350 all others

Academic credits: 8 semester credit units from California State University Northridge
