This annual conference is an informal annual scholarly meeting for the exchange of ideas in a more intimate setting than allowed by larger national conventions. It hosts lectures and posters about recent and ongoing archaeological, ethnographic, and ethnohistorical research in the Andean and Amazonian regions of South America. The 39th conference will honor the research of Dr. Tom Zuidema.

Each year the conference has been sponsored by different Universities in the Midwest: 2010 Indiana University-Purdue University, Fort Wayne; 2009 University of Michigan, Ann Arbor; 2008 University of Wisconsin-Madison; 2007 Southern Illinois University, Carbondale; 2006 Vanderbilt University; 2005 University of Missouri-Columbia.

This event takes place on a weekend - Saturday (morning and afternoon) and Sunday (morning only) - and consists of various 20 minutes talks with 10 minutes of question-and-answer at the end of each presentation. The conference is free and open to the public.

A webpage will be available soon.
