Textile Society of America's Call for Papers is open for the 14th Biennial Symposium to be held in Los Angeles, California Sept 10-14, 2014.

Our theme is New Directions: examining the past, creating the future.

Abstract submission for consideration is open now until Oct 1, 2013 for peer reviewed selection for the conference.

Individual papers, organized sessions (with 4 speakers), panel discussions, films and media can be proposed at this time. See www.textilesociety.org for further information and online abstract submission.

We welcome papers on the subject of textiles from Latin America-- past, present and future-from archaeology, anthropology, ethnohistory, science and technology, art, conservation and other areas of study and practice. I would personally like to encourage colleagues in the field to propose papers that can address the issues relevant to the study of Latin American textiles – whether from Precolumbian, Colonial or Contemporary periods, and also for those who can present the contributions of Latin America to the global perspective.

Proceedings will be electronically published through University of Nebraska Digital Commons open-access. (See http://digitalcommons.unl.edu/tsaconf/ for past proceedings.)

TSA is a non-profit organization whose mission is the dissemination of knowledge about textiles worldwide. Our symposia are attended by scholars, curators, artists, craftsmen and makers, educators, and others interested in the subject of textiles.

Please see out website for further information: www.textilesociety.org

Thank you
Elena
